The Siberian Husky
Siberian Huskies are a working dog that originated in Eastern Siberia. The Siberian Husky is a medium size dog. Siberian Huskies are a resilent breed; known for their ability to survive in arctic cold. They can thrive in temperatures -75. They were orginally bred by the Chukchi tribe for pulling heavy loads. Siberians have a thicker coat than most dogs. They are extremely intelligent.
Siberian Husky traits
The Siberian Husky comes in a variety of colors and patterns. Usually with white paws and legs, facial markings, and tail tips. The most common color is black and white, gray and white, copper red and white, and pure white though some have brown, reddish, or bisquit shadings and some pie bald. They look like a wolf although they are no closer related to a wolf then any other breed of dog.
The Siberian Husky eyes can be blue or brown . They can have bi-eyes. Which means one eye can be blue and one can be brown. Their eyes can be a mixture of both.
Others
Huskies were imported to Alaska. A Siberian Husky led the team during the diptheria outbreak in Alaska in the 1800's. The Idirod Dog Sled race is a re-enactment of that life saving run.
